Hey y'allllllllll! It's been a REALLY long time. Almost a year, actually. At this time last year, I was preparing to move to New York City, so scared, so excited, and so unsure of the future. Almost a year later, I have just now gotten settled into this crazy city, and fully embraced the chaos and uncertainty (yes, still) for what it is: adventure and opportunity.
More about all of that later. Now, for my first blog post "back," I want to talk about another adventure I've been working on for the past 6 months!
Months ago, Blake Judd -- if you're from the 'burg, you know him as the guy who brings celebs to Green County and shows us off in all his music videos.. if you're not, check his work out here-- approached me about becoming a part of a vision he's had for a long time: designing a line of t-shirts.
Normally, I would have said "oh, yeah, that's cool, but I really don't have the time or resources to help you out," but Blake's idea was different. This store would sell products that pay homage to my favorite town in the world: Greensburg. And not only would we be a "t-shirt store," but a place for unique gifts and designs that show off the best of Central Kentucky and what it has to offer. In a time when love of all things Kentucky is at an all-time high, we are taking advantage of the state pride movement and making it more personal.
So, for months, Blake and I have been brainstorming designs and slogans that we think all of Green County will love. Because this is such a special project, we knew the beginning of this endeavor had to be meaningful....thus, our launch is centered around the coolest weekend in Green County...yeah, you know it as Cow Days. With that being said, let me show y'all around some of our merchandise!
COW DAYS COLLECTIBLES
First up is this special edition print! Printed in Covington, KY by THE BLDG, the elements of this print are inspired by Cow Days Buttons from years past. Blake drew the concept, chose the text, I drew the cow and BAM, this is it; simple, sweet, to the point. Did you notice Green County in the center of the Kentucky-shaped spot? That's my favorite part.
The shirt: just the same as the print, this $10.00 shirt, commemorates the 43rd Annual Cow Days Celebration in signature Green County Dragon green AND $1 of each t-shirt sale will go to benefit the Green County Park Board. I loved this design to begin with, but it's even better than I ever imagined on our model. IS THAT NOT THE CUTEST?! The Cow Days shirt will be available online for a time after Cow Days is over, so you have plenty of time to pick one up.
And now...my favorite shirt. Ever.
Y'all. It ain't no country ham. It's Green County.
I can't. This shirt is just everything I could ever want in a t-shirt. I cannot wait to get this for myself and wear it every single day. If the people of New York don't know where Green County is, they will.
Any of these designs (and a few more) can be ordered online at www.thecountylineky.com or at Quad Printing in Downtown Greensburg. "Like" us on Facebook and Instagram or send us an e-mail with any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
