Handletter in a Hurry: Simple Fall Watercolor
Joining in on the chorus of college girls and twenty-somethings across the nation drinking pumpkin spice lattes in their flannel and riding boots and shouting: I LOVE FALL. And I'm not ashamed.
This is my second (and maybe last) Autumn in New York, and darnit, I'm gonna soak it up. This time last year, I had literally just moved to the city (I celebrated my first official year on Oct 3) and was a tad overwhelmed with job hunting and learning my way around to appreciate the changing seasons. This year, I ain't got no excuse. Plus, it's no longer 'sweaty season' and is the perfect, crispy temperature for walking around and drinking a hot (pumpkin spice) latte. The leaves haven't started changing just yet, but I promise lots of pictures when they do.
Until then, you can take a look at my YouTube Videos! Last week's first ever video truly happened by accident. I didn't expect to like the footage of my hand-lettering process enough to make a video out of it, and the whole thing seemed faaaaaar too easy. This week was a little more challenging, as I actually recorded about 4 different videos, but things--camera problems, boring designs, spilled coffee, etc--happened and my "YouTube will be so easy" bubble was promptly burst.
What I'm getting at is that FALL saved the day! I wanted to make a video that would go with everyone's favorite season, and this ended up being a lot of fun.
Here's the creation of the Fall-Inspired watercolor print featured above:
Let me know what you think about this one in the comments below and whether or not you want to see more? Actually, don't tell me because I'm having way too much fun with this and I (very politely and respectfully) don't care what anyone else thinks. But really, if you have any suggestions for next week, HELP ME OUT.
P.S. I got to see some Greensburg gals yesterday. I will always brave the Times Square madness to spend a little time 'back home.'
